About Folk Methodology

After more than a decade of being friends, Rosalee de la Forêt and Mason Hutchison decided to team up. Folk Methodology grew out of their shared love of herbs, long conversations, occasional swearing, and having a genuinely good time while doing meaningful work.

They’re both podcasters, both deeply invested in the herbal community, and wanted a space to collaborate on projects that felt fun, honest, and a little less polished than what usually lives on the internet.

Folk Methodology is a creative herbal studio focused on sharing herbal stories through education, media, and conversation. The work here explores how herbal knowledge is learned, practiced, and passed along, with attention to culture, context, and lived experience.

Through ongoing series, conversations, and creative projects, Folk Methodology makes room for thoughtful teaching, honest dialogue, and long-form storytelling — favoring clarity over hype, curiosity over certainty, and depth over speed.

Our Team

Rosalee de la Forêt

I’m an herbalist, educator, and author with over two decades of experience working with plants and teaching herbalism.

I’m the founder of Herbs with Rosalee, an online school for herbal education, and the host of the Herbs with Rosalee Podcast, where I share practical plant knowledge and conversations with herbalists from around the world.

When I’m not teaching, you’ll usually find me outside, walking, being awe struck by plants, and marveling at the way they make the ordinary extraordinary.
